Hi everyone! 🌟

As a full-time mama to Luka, I've come to treasure every moment we get to spend exploring the magic of Dublin with a toddler in tow. Whether we're splashing in puddles or discovering new play spots, Dublin is full of family-friendly treasures. Here are a few of our top spots—perfect for anyone looking to add a little more adventure to their day!

1. Éamon Ceannt Park

Located Kimmage this park is a gem! It has wide open spaces for running around, two lovely playgrounds, and lots of green areas for picnics. Luka loves the sand pit and music speaker machine. It's never too crowded, so it’s perfect for a relaxed morning or afternoon of play.

2. Bushy Park

A firm favourite of ours! Located in Terenure, Bushy Park is an absolute dream for toddlers. There's a fantastic playground with a sandpit, helicopter, and slides, as well as plenty of space for little legs to run wild. Luka also enjoys walking around the foresty area and feeding the ducks. Saturdays there is local market so its perfect for some play and cheeky snack too.

3. St. Stephen’s Green

This iconic park is one of the best spots in Dublin for morning or afternoon out with the little ones. It has a beautiful playground, lots of places to sit and relax, and beautiful paths perfect for stroller walks. Luka loves running around here, and I love that it's right in the middle of the city, so we can easily pop in during our day out on the town. Unlike the other parks, I wouldnt advise eating here. The birds are known to be a bit bold and aren't shy in stealing your food.

Indoor Fun When It Rains (Because, Ireland…!) ☔️

Dublin's rainy days don't have to mean staying indoors! Here are a few places where we can get messy, have fun, and still stay dry:

1. Messy Fun (Terenure)

This one is perfect for toddlers who love to get their hands dirty! Located just off the main street in Terenure, Messy Fun offers art and sensory play sessions where Luka can unleash his creativity—think painting, bubbles, and all kinds of gooey, squishy play that both of us enjoy. It’s a lovely way to make a mess without worrying about the clean-up!

2. Portobello Library (St. Kevin’s)

A hidden gem for families! Portobello Library is home to a massive slide that Luka absolutely loves. It’s part of the children's section, so after enjoying a good book or a storytime session, your little ones can race up to the top and zoom down. It’s a fantastic spot for burning off energy and making new friends—plus, it’s a wonderful, quiet place to relax and unwind.

3. Funky Monkey (Dundrum Town Centre)

For when we need to burn off some energy indoors, Funky Monkey in Dundrum Town Centre is a fantastic soft play centre! It has everything a toddler could dream of—slides, climbing frames, and lots of toys for them to explore. I love that it’s safe, and offers a great place for Luka to play while I can relax and have a coffee (not really, but one day I hope).

I hope this gives you some ideas for fun, family-friendly outings in Dublin! Whether you’re chasing the sunshine in one of Dublin's amazing parks or keeping busy indoors, there’s always something exciting to do with your little ones.
